The Ferrari F430 was far more than a facelift of its predecessor, the 360, it also offered a significant leap forward in engineering terms. Chassis rigidity was notably improved, particularly in Spider form, reducing scuttle shake and delivering sharper, more composed handling. The new 4.3-litre V8 produced 483bhp and was paired with a much-improved F1 paddle-shift transmission, offering faster, smoother gear changes along with better clutch management at low speeds. Further Formula 1-derived technologies included the E-Diff and steering wheel-mounted Manettino switch, transforming the car’s dynamic ability, while the more aggressive styling brought it in line with Ferrari’s contemporary range. Crucially, the move to a timing chain-driven engine eliminated the costly belt services associated with the 360, making ownership considerably more straightforward. As Evo magazine noted at the time, “the F430 moves the game on significantly,” and it remains one of the most usable and rewarding modern Ferraris of its era.
Offered here at Supercar Fest 2026 is a 2009 Ferrari F430 Spider F1, supplied new by Lancaster Ferrari, Sevenoaks and notably once owned by global rock legend, Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. As a late 2009 model, it is understood to be one of the final ten F430s to leave the Ferrari production line.
Beautifully presented in Nero Daytona, the specification is extensive, including Scuderia wing shields, black soft-top, matching black carpets and contrasting Sabia (sand) heated leather seats. As a late production example, it benefits from a particularly high level of options, notably carbon ceramic brakes (circa £20,000 option), front and rear parking sensors, NavTrak tracker and extended carbon fibre including the steering wheel and dashboard, complemented by Sabia leather-trimmed roll-over hoops. At the time of cataloguing the Ferrari showed 37,979 miles and presented exceptionally well, with the Nero Daytona paintwork protected by paint protection film and enhanced by a professionally-applied ceramic coating, giving excellent depth of finish while offering some additional protection.
Accompanying the car is its original Ferrari book pack, including a fully stamped service book, spare keys and current V5C registration document. A particularly nice touch is the F430-related registration number, which is included in the sale.
The F430 benefits from a comprehensive service history, predominantly with Ferrari main dealers and more recently with respected specialists. Since 2021, maintenance has largely been carried out by JCT600 Ferrari Leeds, with work overseen by Danny Dawson, a multiple Ferrari ‘World’s Best Technician’ award winner. The last service there was completed in May 2024 at 34,736 miles, with the most recent service at a Ferrari specialist in June 2025 at 37,554 miles. Notable recent expenditure includes replacement exhaust manifolds in 2021, a well-documented weak point on the F430, along with a new plenum. Supporting documentation includes JCT600 condition reports (May 2024, 34,534 miles) confirming both clutch wear and brake disc condition as ‘OK’.
Owned by a Ferrari enthusiast and former prominent member of the Ferrari Owners Club UK, the car was carefully sourced for European touring and has been maintained accordingly. Now offered for sale as our vendor looks towards a new acquisition, this represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a highly specified, well-maintained F430 Spider with genuine provenance and a unique celebrity connection.
