The Bedford CF is a range of full-size panel vans produced by the commercial vehicles division of Vauxhall. The van was introduced in 1969 to replace the CA model and was sized to compete directly with the Ford Transit, which had entered production four years earlier. Its design was similar to its American counterpart, the Chevrolet Van. Bedford was a General Motors subsidiary, and in some markets outside the United Kingdom and Ireland the CF was sold through Opel dealers as the Opel Bedford Blitz from 1973 on when the original Opel Blitz was phased out. The CF was notable for being the last vehicle solely designed by Vauxhall when it was discontinued in 1986.
This four berth 1973 Bedford CF Motorhome presented in blue boasts the 2.3 litre slant four-cylinder petrol engine with four speed manual gearbox. Benefitting from a complete interior overhaul and refurbishment in July 2022 including new upholstery, custom fitted cabinetry, flooring, split-charge and leisure battery system, LED lighting, a 230v oven and double hob (with cable), 12/230v fridge, 35 litre water tank, and portable solar charge unit this offers a very practical camper alternative. An uprated alternator and a new heater matrix fan were fitted May 2023 and some recent paint and bodywork has also been completed. Further accessories include a rear doorstep, tow-hook, Rostyle wheels, super-security Milenco rear door lock and solar panel for battery charging.
The vendor states the engine is strong and runs well, and the synchromesh on gears two, three and four are all in good order and all tyres are excellent. Supplied with Haynes hardback workshop manual and an MoT test certificate until October 2026, regardless of being MoT exempt. This is a great summer camper van and well equipped for the great outdoors.
