1989 BMW 635CSi Motorsport Edition
£34,000.00 | €39,208.90 | $45,795.99

The BMW E24 6 Series was introduced in 1976 as the successor to the acclaimed E9 coupe, combining elegant grand touring ability with BMW's trademark sporting dynamics. Instantly recognisable by its 'shark nose' styling and slim glasshouse, the model offered a compelling alternative to rivals such as the Porsche 928 and Jaguar XJS. At the top of the standard range sat the BMW 635CSi, powered by the robust 3.4-litre M30 straight-six producing around 216bhp, delivering strong performance alongside refined long-distance capability.

This particular example represents one of the most desirable iterations of the model, a rare Motorsport Edition, one of just 181 produced. Finished in striking Macao Blue and showing fewer than 50,000 miles, it presents in excellent condition throughout. The previous owner enjoyed an impressive 22-year custodianship from 2003, during which time fewer than 10,000 miles were added, clearly reflecting the car's cherished status and careful use.

In 2008, the car was entrusted to Berry BMW for a comprehensive programme of cosmetic refurbishment, including a full respray and replacement of various trim components and seals, with invoices on file totalling over £5,700, a significant investment at the time. The result remains evident today, with the paintwork retaining an excellent finish and the interior displaying minimal wear. The car currently sits on a set of genuine Alpina Hardline alloy wheels, a popular and sympathetic upgrade, though easily reversible if desired.

More recently, the car has been professionally stored and lightly used, with a comprehensive service carried out in October 2023 by BMR Performance Ltd, including an Inspection II, new spark plugs, fresh fluids and differential service. This example has formed part of the Continental Performance Collection, a carefully curated group of standout enthusiast cars selected for their quality, originality and driver appeal. Offered with a history file, V5C registration document showing three former keepers and an MoT valid until November 2026, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully preserved and highly collectible example of BMW's iconic grand tourer.
