It's such a great looking classic truck, that it's almost hard to believe that this 1950 Ford F-1 rolled off the assembly with so much style already on board. It has some serious historical significance as well. As a member of Ford's revolutionary F-1 line, it marked a crucial point in its manufacturer's development, a time when it had begun to redirect its post-war efforts to produce rugged truck-based pickups that were capable of doing the heavy lifting as American construction was ramping back up to full speed. Revitalized in bright red paint, it features a collection of art-deco-inspired curvature that's unblemished by any distracting dents or dings and the contrasting black side steps, along with the vintage storage box mounted alongside the gas tank in the rear bed, are excellent visual details.

Inside you'll find a sharp driving environment, with a vinyl bench seat at its center that includes a checked surface very much in keeping with this F-1's '50s origin. Everything in the cabin looks clean and nicely maintained, especially the quintet of original style gauges just in front of the sizable period-correct black steering wheel and the chrome panel at the center of the dash. The shifter is sufficiently lengthy and curved just enough to put it within easy reach, making this vintage pickup easy to drive and, as you look around, you'll also notice that the seals that keep the elements from intruding still appear pliable.

The period-correct flathead V8 that powers this classic has been outfitted with Offenhauser heads to improve its cooling ability while keeping its convincingly authentic appearance intact. Dual Ford 2-barrel carburetors sitting on a Fenton intake manifold help ensure that this truck is well-fed, while aftermarket headers help it breathe easier. The surrounding compartment is in good shape, with nicely painted steel walls and fresh-looking belts and hoses. The original generator has been replaced with a more modern alternator, anchoring an upgraded 12-volt electrical system that was installed to improve real-world reliability. Should you take the opportunity to get behind the wheel of this F1 for a test drive, you'll notice that its front disc brakes do a fine job of bringing it to a stop, while a custom rear suspension with coilovers really smooths out its ride.
