V-Spec II Nür No. 529
In the twilight of the R34 GT-R's lifecycle, Nissan released a pair of limited-edition variants as a final sendoff to its beloved Skyline GT-R model. Introduced in 2002, the V-Spec II and M-Spec II Nür were named for the Nürburgring upon which the GT-R was developed. Both variants were equipped with racing-derived, N1-specification engine internals; namely larger and more durable turbochargers. Generating more boost than the standard GT-R, these turbos really stretched the truth that the RB26DETT engine adhered to the Japanese gentleman's agreement limit of 280 CV, in reality believed to produce more than 330 CV. The final edition GT-Rs also featured unique touches including different colored stitching on the interior trim, gold valve covers in place of red covers, a gold VIN plate, and a speedometer that went up to 300 km/h. Based on the track-focused V-Spec II, the V-Spec II Nür was uniquely equipped with a carbon fiber hood and was further enhanced with NACA ducts, larger rear brake rotors, and a stiffer suspension; well-optimized to handle the infamous, demanding racetrack it was named after. Nissan produced just 718 examples of the GT-R V-Spec II Nür, and all were exclusive to the Japanese market.
This 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nür is the 529th car produced and is one of only approximately 156 examples finished in JW0 Millennium Jade. Its clean CarVX report indicates that it was manufactured in June 2002 and was first registered the following month to who is believed to be its sole Japanese owner. The car remained in Shizuoka for the next 19 years, in the shadow of Mount Fuji and not far from Fuji Speedway-Japan's own Nürburgring. Here it benefitted from frequent inspections and recorded maintenance, with reports on file, and was last registered in Japan in August 2021. It was subsequently exported to England in January 2023 where it joined the consignor's highly curated collection of exceedingly rare GT-Rs.
Now offered with just 29,708 kilometers at cataloging, this example is furnished with GT-R owner's manuals, maintenance records, and a file of inspection reports helping to trace its ownership in Japan. The car has additionally been fitted with a NISMO titanium strut brace, perfectly complementing its arsenal of factory track-focused components.
Finished in desirable Millennium Jade and recently emerging from nearly two decades of single Japanese ownership, this 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nür is a gratifying highlight of the Skyline GT-R's evocative final chapter.
