Chassis No. SBM11RAB0GW675495

Only three road cars from Woking have ever carried the LT ''Longtail'' suffix, each one representing the most extreme, driver-focused interpretation of its respective platform-a lineage that Andrew Frankel, writing for The Intercooler, put to the test in a single head-to-head comparison. The 600LT, despite being genuinely quick in real-world conditions and carrying all the core McLaren virtues, lacks the ProActive Chassis Control (PCC) that gives the 675LT and 765LT their uncanny composure at speed, the ''freakish ability to apparently resurface the road milliseconds before you arrive'' being notable only by its absence in the smaller car.

The 765LT, with its bored-out 4.0-liter engine producing 765 PS, is faster than the other two LTs by a meaningful margin and more ferocious in character, yet it is also a car in which the engine ultimately sets the terms, leaving the driver feeling ''a little like its subordinate, a second lieutenant to its captain and company commander.'' Frankel's conclusion is telling, writing, ''I've agonised about this for a while now, but every time I ask myself which of the three would I be happiest to see parked in my shed, the answer is always the same: the McLaren 675LT.''

For all the reasons Frankel articulates, and many more, the 675LT has earned its place among collectors as one of the finest and most investable modern McLarens. More prized still are those entrusted to McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the bespoke division formalized in 2011 and still in its relative infancy at the time of the 675LT's 2015 announcement. MSO specifications were applied sparingly across the Coupe's production run, and a car of this specification depth is genuinely uncommon as a result. For broader context, comparable bespoke programs-Paint to Sample 911 GT3 RS 4.0 examples and 458 Speciale Tailor Made cars-now routinely command significant premiums, a measure of how the market values factory personalization on the defining driver's cars of this era; the 675LT's comparable merits have yet to be fully reflected in kind. Chassis 675495 is one such car, carrying in excess of €32.000 in MSO options and a specification that speaks directly to the depth of knowledge of its owner-a ten-year veteran of McLaren's own team, having worked as product manager across the MP4-12C and P1 programs.

The exterior is finished in Silica White with Burton Blue center stripes, a combination inspired by the racing livery of chassis 0732TR-the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa campaigned by Ed Hugus-and rendered here with the front bumper and side sills painted in body color, the rear bumper and underside of the airbrake in matte black giving it a distinctive and uniform rear graphic. The unique exterior look is completed with a Bronze finish to the “Ultra” lightweight wheels. One of only three cars to leave Woking with a full body-colored scheme, the result gives the 675LT a unique presence with a more aggressive and visual lower body line, setting it apart from most exposed carbon fiber-laden examples. Notably, the roof scoop was deliberately omitted, its absence a prerequisite for the Clubsport Pack, which equips the car with a titanium roll hoop first seen on a production car in the 675LT, four-point racing harnesses, and a fire extinguisher. McLaren Track Telemetry with a lap timer and three cameras is fitted alongside it.

Practicality is addressed by a front axle lifter, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and a vehicle tracking system. Inside, the bespoke MSO finishes extend to the color-to-sample “Powder” blue leather seat upholstery with white ''675LT'' headrest embroidery, and the Active Dynamics toggle switches on the center console finished in Burton Blue to match the exterior stripes-a detail that illustrates how thoroughly this specification was considered to create a unique interpretation of the model.

One of the final five examples of the 500-unit production run to leave Woking, chassis number 675495 was delivered new to McLaren Monaco in June 2016 and has remained with its original owner since. Showing just over 6,000 kilometers at the time of cataloging-and thus VAT-exempt within the EU-the car has been maintained in like-new condition throughout, most recently serviced by V Management in the U.K., with new suspension accumulators fitted. What is offered here is not simply one of the most uniquely specified 675LTs ever built, but one of the most complete driver's cars ever to leave Woking.
