TVR S3 2.9C with Monza Red coachwork with Tan and Black hide. First registered in the UK on 14th December 1990. Overall, the bodywork is in good condition, there appear to be no surface cracking or stress damage to the fibreglass - the only imperfections being the missing front bumper rubber mouldings and both front indicator lenses being cracked. Free from any apparent blistering the coachwork is in average condition for a car of this age and mileage.
The factory Black mohair roof is in good condition, with slight wear at the corners, the seals are all in place and the rear plastic screen and stitching in excellent order. Carpeting in the boot shows the usual evidence of dampness – most likely due to blocked pipes. A jack and space saver spare wheel are present, along with two targa roof storage covers. The interior is commensurate with the age of the vehicle, the driver's seat requires attention, needing a recover to make best. The veneer of the dash and switch panel are in good order and the glass is good all round and the electric windows both work, albeit a little slow. The carpets show slight evidence of wear but usable as is. All four, factory original Oz 8-spoke wheels are in good order, with no evidence of kerbing or cracks. Bridgestone RE720 tyres are fitted all round. A new battery was fitted on the 31st March 2026 with a three year warranty (with paperwork on file).
There is a large file of history with the car including the original book pack, Warranty Handbook, Owners Handbook etc. There are several pages of handwritten notes including fitting of Stage 2 big valve cylinder heads, camshafts etc. to a cost of some £3,000 from Graham Walker (Sports and Prestige, Cheshire) and Specialised Engines.
Keen to start with a steady idle it pulled very well throughout the range without any strange noises or vibrations with an eagerness we haven't often felt with the S2s we have experienced. The exhaust note is sublime, having had a recent refit of an entire stainless-steel system and new manifolds. The instruments all appear to be working with the exception of the fuel gauge. Oil pressure, water temperature and volts all read well and stayed within limits at the time of consignment. After driving there was no evidence of engine coolant or oil leaks. The 5-speed gearbox changed as it should with ease and the clutch feels as new with a healthy biting point. Having sat outside for some time, the brake discs have a coating of corrosion and require cleaning before any serious use, but they stopped the car without pulling left or right. Appearing to be only in need of a general tidy and light re-commissioning, this TVR could potentially be a perfectly usable as a rolling restoration.
