The Mercedes-Benz ML420 CDI 4-Matic was a high-performance diesel variant of the W164 M-Class, produced between 2006 and 2009 (with certain market versions sold from 2008 to 2009). It combined strong V8 diesel performance from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel (reportedly producing 306bhp) with luxury SUV refinement. The engine is allied to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. A top tier diesel alternative to petrol V8 M-Class models, it offered more torque and better economy while delivering similar performance. In Europe, the ML420 CDI appealed to buyers wanting a luxury SUV with powerful diesel performance, fitting between the ML 320 CDI and the ML63 AMG.

Manufactured in 2007 and first registered for the road on 16th February 2007, this example is presented in Metallic Black with a Black leather interior and the usual refinements you’d expect, air conditioning, ABS, cruise control, electric memory seats with lumber adjustment, satellite navigation and electric folding mirrors. The ultimate passenger-carrying pulling machine, there’s a tow-bar for most things you’d need to pull.

With 3 previous owners, and previous long-term ownership of some 11 years, the current owner bought the vehiclel a few months ago but has had little use for it. It’s described by the vendor as running and driving well. Service history in the book pack records 5 stamped entries in total of which 4 are with a main dealer. The handbook is also present in the book pack. We are advised the ML has just had a Mercedes servo recall carried out and there’s an MOT until November 2026.
