Evocative of one of the most celebrated eras in international endurance racing, the cars of the 1960's remain among the most striking, purposeful and beautiful competition designs ever conceived with legendary designs. Defined by their low-slung profiles, mid-mounted engines, and uncompromising focus on speed and agility, the 330 P4 marked a decisive shift in race car engineering, embracing the advantages of balance and aerodynamics that would come to dominate top-level motorsport. The allure of these machines proved irresistible, inspiring a number of highly skilled recreations intended to capture both the visual drama and the dynamic experience of the originals. Among the most notable was the project commissioned by renowned German designer Luigi Colani, which led to the first example being constructed in 1977 by Noble Motorsport of Leicester, a car inspired by the legendary 330 P4. Built around a robust steel spaceframe chassis, the design incorporated a proven and reliable 3.0 litre V6 engine paired with a five-speed transaxle, offering accessible performance suitable for both road and track use.

The example offered here, chassis number 053, was completed in 1992 and acquired by its previous owner, then a design director at Ford Motor Company Claude Lobo, in August 1995. Shortly thereafter, the car benefited from a series of thoughtful upgrades carried out by NF Auto Development, as documented in accompanying correspondence and invoices. These enhancements included revised wishbone suspension components, reinforced chromed steering arms, upgraded springs and dampers, and improvements to the cooling system with the installation of a new radiator and fan assembly. Further refinements followed in 1999 with the addition of sliding side windows and a subtly redesigned front end, completing its evolution to then-current specification. Power is provided by an all-alloy, fuel-injected 2.7 litre V6 engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. In combination with the lightweight chassis construction, this drivetrain delivers spirited performance while maintaining commendable drivability.
