- Harley-Davidson have been producing motorcycles since 1903 and are one of the most famous motorcycle companies in existence
- Founded in Milwaukee and known for big V-twin engined cruisers and custom models
- The XR750 was developed from the highly successful outgoing KR750 and produced to compete in the new and very competitive AMA racing series
- Harley-Davidson race team manager, Dick O’Brien, was the driving force behind the XR750
- Officially launched in 1970 the XR750 ended up being the most successful racing motorcycle in AMA history, winning more races than any other machine at the time
- This early production, pre-all-alloy engine example is superbly presented in running order with only one hour's use since a Duncan Keller full engine rebuild
- The bike was purchased in Alaska with possible Mark Brelsford connection and completely restored by our fastidious vendor to its current condition
- Parts were sourced from around the world over a number of years to create a bike that was as close to the original as possible using factory correct parts including many unobtainable NOS parts including tyres, wheels, grips and chain
- Fitted with the correct Fairbanks magneto (no generator on these models) and Tillotson HD5A carburettor
- Other correct parts include Ceriani front forks, Girling rear suspension, Arces yokes and a ‘big style’ CEV kill switch
- Demonstrated by our vendor in 2022 at the Peterborough Speedway track at the MCN Festival and featured in the Sideburn magazine issue number 53 (copy included)
