One of only 84 Aston Martin DB Mark III Drophead Coupes produced. Powered by its matching-numbers 2.9-liter inline six, mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. Delivered in Paris before being included in The Curated Collection in 2006. Accompanied by its tool kit, a copy of the Aston Martin build sheet, various correspondence from the current owner, and his FIVA identification card. The successor to the DB2/4 Mark II, the DB2/4 Mark III—often simply called the DB Mark III at the time—was introduced in 1957 and remained in production for only two years, until 1959. This model was equipped with an enlarged inline six that delivered 164 hp as standard. Optional features included Girling disc brakes, a Laycock-de Normanville overdrive, and an automatic transmission. Standard equipment included worm-and-sector steering, a rigid rear axle, and two SU carburetors. A total of 551 examples were produced, of which only 84 were Drophead Coupes.
