The Subaru Impreza 22B STi is a rally car developed in Japan in 1998. The 22B STi was created for the 40th anniversary and for the third consecutive developer title in the FIA World Rally Championship. On the first sales date, all 399 cars built were sold within 48 hours. All 22Bs have a unique number plate on the center console; there is uncertainty regarding whether 22B #13/400 was ever produced—the unlucky number #13 is quite a thing in Japan. Three prototype 22Bs with #000/400 were sold (gifted) to Colin McRae, Nicky Grist, and David Lapworth of Prodrive Racing. McRae's car was auctioned in 2024 for £480500. Finally, a #000/400 22B is on display in the STI gallery in Tokyo; this is the demo car that the press drove at the time of the introduction. The Impreza presented here is a Japanese car that was first exported to England and then went to the Netherlands. It is completely original and perfectly maintained.
