Built in November 1969 and dispatched to New York in 1970, this attractive Jaguar E-Type Series II coupe was originally supplied in Primrose Yellow with a Cinnamon interior. Imported to the UK and first registered here in 1992, it is understood that the right hand drive conversion was carried out at that time. Today it presents in one of the E-Type's most desirable colour combinations, finished in Signal Red with a tan interior, a combination which perfectly complements Malcolm Sayer's timeless design.

Powered by Jaguar's renowned 4.2 litre XK six-cylinder engine, the Series II offers a more refined driving experience than its predecessor whilst retaining all of the performance, character and unmistakable presence that has made the E-Type one of the most celebrated sportscars of all time. Presented in very good overall condition, this is an ideal driver's E-Type; an example that can be enjoyed on the road as intended rather than hidden away.

Importantly, the history file evidences significant recent expenditure. In May 2025, a new brake master cylinder and servo pipes were fitted. August 2023 saw the installation of a new starter motor and front shock absorbers, whilst reconditioned carburettors were fitted in 2021. Most notably, the engine was comprehensively rebuilt in 2021 at a cost of approximately £7,000. Works included an unleaded cylinder head conversion, new valves, guides, springs and cam followers, a reground crankshaft, new pistons, big-end bearings, oil pump, rear main seal, head studs and associated components. The car has covered only around 1,000-2,000 miles since completion of these works.

With E-Type values having softened from the heights seen a few years ago, this well-presented and mechanically refreshed example represents a compelling opportunity to acquire one of Britain's greatest sporting classics at what looks to be excellent value. Consigned by Fraser Smith
