The W 113 was the successor to the 190 SL and, with its various engines, positioned itself between the 190 SL and the 300 SL (gullwing/roadster). Because the 300 SL had no comparable successor, the W 113 is sometimes considered its successor. The W 113 marked the transition from the rounded forms of the previous model to a more functional style. The goal of the design development, led by Paul Bracq, was to clearly distinguish it from its predecessor and create a more "masculine" appearance. Smooth surfaces, ample usable space, and the absence of decorative elements characterized the Pagoda SL. The main market was the US, where a large proportion of the vehicles went to California. This Mercedes offered here is a car that was originally delivered in Belgium and is therefore a European version. It is a beautiful car where everything is just right. The panel gaps align beautifully, and the bodywork also looks very sleek.
