- Designed and built by Alpine at their Dieppe factory on the Normandy coast, the Renault 5 Alpine Turbo – badged as the Gordini Turbo in the UK – was named in honour of Amédée Gordini, Renault’s legendary performance tuner
- With just circa 13 known survivors currently registered in the UK, the model has become one of the rarest of the period
- First registered in July 1984 this Gordini Turbo had covered 69,700 miles at the time of cataloguing
- The silver (Argent) exterior is enhanced by red coachlines and the bespoke Gordini Turbo alloys, and the predominantly mustard-coloured interior is original and tidy
- Recent maintenance includes a rebuilt carburettor, new rear suspension mounts. An engine rebuild in 2001 by Salv Sacco (Renault competition specialist), gearbox rebuild, new Garrett turbocharger from Turbo Technics, and a pre-heat system to aid cold starts
- Supplied with the Bill of Sale from 1984, MOT Certificates, detailed history file with numerous receipts and invoices, both keys, original handbook, toolkit, and a matching Gordini alloy spare wheel
