Few British sports cars possess the character or individuality of the Marcos GT. Designed around the company's distinctive lightweight chassis and clothed in one of the most striking bodies of the era, the Marcos combined dramatic styling with genuine performance to become a favourite amongst enthusiastic road drivers and club racers alike. Supporting upgrades include a bespoke wiring loom installed by Marcos Heritage, Protech suspension, a custom Coolex aluminium radiator, rebuilt Weber 40 DFI5 carburettor, custom stainless steel exhaust, new screen seals, rebuilt Type 5 gearbox, rebuilt overdrive unit, replacement clutch cylinder and new acrylic headlamp covers. The vendor advises that the car starts readily, has proved exceptionally reliable throughout ownership and has never failed to put a smile on their face.
Accompanying the car is an exceptionally comprehensive history file documenting both historic ownership and recent expenditure, together with invoices, build information and a wealth of supporting paperwork. The vendor also advises that this particular Marcos was originally dispatched to Africa as a factory show car before returning to the UK, where it was registered in April 1970.
