This very attractive example is presented in crisp Olympic White with red accent trim and a smart red interior. Now UK registered, it is fitted with the 3.3-litre six-cylinder engine coupled to an automatic gearbox, while power-assisted steering makes it particularly approachable and enjoyable to use on British roads.
The accompanying documentation indicates that the Mustang underwent an extensive bare-metal, nut-and-bolt restoration, understood to have been completed during 2015. This reportedly included a comprehensive mechanical overhaul, with the engine rebuilt and fitted with new ancillaries. The cylinder head was also modified to permit the use of unleaded petrol, while the automatic gearbox was rebuilt.
Further restoration work included new brakes throughout, renewed suspension, shock absorbers, a stainless-steel exhaust system, new lighting and fittings, chrome bumpers and trim, together with fresh whitewall tyres. The attractive spoked wheel trims are particularly well suited to the car and complement its classic American appearance.
The interior also received considerable attention, including new carpets, dashboard trim, seats and roof lining. The resulting cabin presents very smartly, with the rich red upholstery providing a particularly attractive contrast against the white exterior. The Sprint 200 package was created to lend additional sporting character to the six-cylinder Mustang and typically incorporated distinctive detailing, a chrome air cleaner, centre console, painted side accents and wire-style wheel covers. Today, these cars combine the unmistakable style and presence of the first-generation Mustang with comparatively straightforward mechanicals and relaxed road manners.
Presented in very lovely, restored condition and accompanied by a photographic record detailing the work undertaken, this striking Mustang offers an appealing combination of classic Americana, attractive colours and useful mechanical improvements. A smart and highly usable, UK-registered example of Ford's enduring motoring icon. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
Interested parties should note that this is a running/driving example but due to being in storage for some time a minor service or minor recommissioning may be required (plugs/fuel filter etc.). The brakes will also require some attention (needing to be pumped for pressure). This should be taken into account when bidding.
