This Porsche 912 was delivered to AFN Porsche Ltd. on 6th December 1965 and was first registered on 20th January 1966. The vendor purchased this car on 16th October 2006 and started a tale of woe lasting 16 years. It broke down on the way home. He had it towed to a garage, they stripped it down and he was talked into a restoration. The car was stripped down and after a lengthy delay he was told the garage was closing down, with the owner emigrating and he had to collect his 'car', most of it in boxes. He commissioned another garage to complete the work, but it soon transpired they were out of their depth. This saga went on for such a long time. The engine was rebuilt numerous times until, eventually, the vendor stumbled across the right people eventually, the nett result being this outstanding Porsche 912. Finished in the fabulous colour combination of Irish Green with brown leatherette interior, this Porsche is testament to the vendors fastidious tenacity. Rarely do we see restored cars that have been finished to such a high quality. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a collection of invoices and a copy of Classic Porsche magazine from August 2022, with a six-page feature of this car. Well preserved 912 examples are increasingly sought-after because they capture the character of classic Porsche engineering while remaining accessible, making them appealing to enthusiasts who enjoy driving as much as collecting.
