Here we have a very nice example of the world changing BMW 840 Ci. This represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire one of these before the world wakes up to how ahead of its time they were. At the launch of the 8-Series around 1991, it was stated by BMW that it had more technical parts than the space shuttle! Presented in Sterling Silver with a contrasting full Black leather interior, this example has been highly specified from the factory with Bolted cross spoke alloy wheels, tinted windscreen, headlamp wash wipers and automatic cruise speed hold. The delightful German GT cruiser eats up the road whilst providing comfort and smoothness braced with performance in the highest sense. The 4.0 V8 engine was recognised as one of the best engines that BMW produced from a time when they were at their best, and gives you a very satisfying rumble through the dual exit exhaust system, especially with the windows down. The pillarless windows and pop-up headlights are timeless and with values of these rocketing in the past few years, they don’t appear to be slowing down. Be sure not to miss examples like this before they go through the roof.

The 840 comes with a BMW dealer printout detailing the visits it has had to various dealers throughout its life, as well as its factory build sheet providing the original specification. A lovely specification gave it a timeless shape, and it was so ahead of its time that no other manufacturer of the time could match it for design and looks. Even today, there is nothing quite like it on the market. This is one of those that you just know will only go up in value as time goes on, and there are less of them on the market. If this was launched today, it would fit in so well and not look out of place. We all know that no manufacture will ever make something like this, so get one of these whilst you can.

The BMW comes to us from a high-end collection and has been stored very well. The vendor has very kindly replaced the batteries and spark plugs with Autoden of Knutsford at a cost of a little under £1,000, as well as providing a fresh MOT, which gives you an indication of how it has been cared for. If you want to get yourself an example that will always turn heads and will only rise in price, this is the one for you.
