Launched in 1970, the Triumph Stag was envisioned as a luxury sportscar and designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupes but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A new 2.5 litre, V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2,997cc. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox although manual gearboxes with overdrive were available. Electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes were fitted as standard.

This beautifully presented 1976 Triumph Stag is finished in its striking and highly desirable Jade Green coachwork, perfectly complemented by a crisp white interior and a contrasting black soft-top hood. Offering the ultimate in classic British open-top motoring, this example benefits from a versatile configuration as it comes complete with its factory-specification matching hardtop for year-round usability. The vehicle is accompanied by an extensive history file including its original owner's manuals and a comprehensive collection of past invoices detailing years of dedicated maintenance and care. Combining the unmistakable burble of its Triumph V8 engine with timeless Italian styling by Michelotti, this Stag represents a fantastic opportunity for the discerning collector or classic enthusiast looking for a well-documented and eye-catching cruise.
