Few cars embody their era as completely as the Ferrari Testarossa captured the excess of the 1980s. Its deeply recessed side intakes, menacing louvered tail, and outrageously wide stance were penned by Leonardo Fioravanti, tasked with creating a radical yet refined successor to Ferrari's previous flagship.

Development started with a reworking of its predecessor's longitudinally mounted 4.9-liter 12-cylinder engine and radiator layout, which now delivered a production-car record 380 horsepower while curing the Boxer's notoriously hot cabin. Inside, the spacious, ergonomic interior was trimmed in Connolly leather, with air conditioning as standard. Its greatest advance over both its predecessor and the rival Lamborghini Countach was its slippery shape, which needed no rear spoiler and featured a sculpted aerodynamic nose. Wide five-spoke light-alloy wheels completed the package, housing large ventilated, servo-assisted disc brakes. Ongoing updates followed: revised suspension, steering column, shocks, and brakes for 1988 to suit new five-bolt wheels, and modern KE-Jetronic fuel injection in 1989.

Finished in a refreshing and eminently fitting shade of Silver Argento over a Red Rosso leather interior, this well-preserved example, showing 42,842 miles at the time of cataloging, is documented by a clean CARFAX Report dating back to 1996. While it notes that there is an unverifiable accident record from 2000, flagged in 2007, it otherwise reflects consistent mileage and regular service and maintenance, notably by European Motorsports of Lawrence, Massachusetts, through 2004, when the odometer read 37,698 miles.

Driven sparingly since, adding just over 5,000 miles, the car very recently benefits from a major service performed in September 2026 by Stallion Motorsports LLC of Costa Mesa, California. The work, with detailed invoice on file, included replacement of the timing belt tensioner and idler, camshaft seals, valve covers, and drive belts, as well as exhaust repairs and the replacement of a fuel line. The serpentine belt was also replaced, the coolant flushed and changed, and the A/C refrigerant recharged, followed by an oil and filter change, a new radiator cap, and an adjustment of the parking brake, with the brakes and fuel system inspected.

Presented in a striking color combination with low mileage, and offered with its jack, matching spare wheel, and service invoices, chassis number 85383 represents a compelling opportunity to acquire a desirable late-production Testarossa that benefits from numerous technical and ergonomic upgrades while retaining Fioravanti's design in unaltered form.
