  • The 1938 Rudge Special - often called the Rudge Sports Special and associated with the Rudge Ulster/Super Sport lineage - was one of the last high-performance motorcycles built by Rudge-Whitworth before the company stopped motorcycle production in the early 1940s. These machines are remembered for advanced engineering, racing pedigree, and exceptional handling for their era
  • Rudge-Whitworth was based in Coventry and became famous in the 1920s and 1930s for producing technically sophisticated motorcycles that regularly competed in events like the Isle of Man TT, with many of the most famous racers of the day riding for them, including Murray Walker, Stanley Woods, Wal Handley and Freddie Dixon
  • This smart example, registered on 19/02/1938, is an older restoration, though still presenting very well indeed and is a very attractive machine, only being sold by our vendor due to a leg injury that renders him unable to ride this bike. It is described as a quick bike that's running and riding well, however not used recently and will require the re-fitment of its carburettor
  • Supplied with a current V5C (correctly classed as Historic) and the registration number appears to be transferable
  • A great opportunity to purchase a smart pre-war Rudge Sports Special that is being offered without reserve
