This lovely Austin 16 appears to be one of the very early post-war models produced at Longbridge in Birmingham in late 1945.

The accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate confirms it left the factory in Blue and Black with Blue trim, which it still wears today. It also notes that this Austin had factory options of a sunshine roof, 16-inch wheels, 12-volt lighting system, a Smith milometer (as a UK example) and Lancegaye (which later became Triplex) windscreen.

It isn’t a concourse example, but it is full of character and charm and will appeal to anyone wanting an easy to drive and maintain British classic and keep the heritage of these vehicles from fading away.

It is key that we, as enthusiasts, don’t let these cars and the history and heritage just fade away. This Austin 16 could be used regularly or proudly be taken to car shows and make a really nice addition to anyone’s collection. Maybe you’re considering your first venture into true classic ownership, you would be well suited and do a lot worse than this particular Austin.
