- A very rare colour combination that looks amazing
- Long term collector ownership
- A real Alpina built by Alpina in Bavaria
- Low ownership
We are so pleased to bring to market this stunning Alpina B10 3.3 with the manual gearbox; a rare find, as a lot of these were automatic back in the day. It is finished in a colour called Fern Green with gold Alpina stripes, sand beige leather with green piping and complimented with wood trim which is embossed with the Alpina badge. If you know what this is, then you will be very much aware of its history and how these were supplied. This example was supplied by Sytner in Nottingham who were at the time the only dealer allowed to sell genuine Alpinas. It was registered to its first owner on 14/6/2000 but was PDi’d by Alpina in Bavaria on 27/9/1999, this is one way of knowing that this is a real Alpina and not a copy. The other way is the chassis number and car number, this being number 56 which corresponds with the chassis number (also ending in 56), which only happens on Alpinas. The V5 also states Alpina, as does the HPi certificate. It has no missing pixels on the dash, a common thing on BMW’s of this age, so this one is good and is believed to be one of only two built in this colour.
The paperwork is equally as good with its complete book pack with a service book containing 10 stamps. This is backed up with a host of invoices from BMW and specialists detailing service works, etc. carried out along the way, a large collection of MOTs both from the UK and Ireland, details from Tracker, an older advert from when our vendor bought it in 2011 for his own very nice private collection (he has only done c.6,000 miles in his 15 year ownership), information from Sytner and the spare key. A great and quite comprehensive history! The specification is also rather nice with things like headlamp wash, boot spoiler, Alpina kick plates, Alpina piping on the seats, Alpina steering wheel / gear knob / mats, embossed wood trim, CD changer, boot mat, heated seats, upgraded speakers, and a whole load of standard equipment that these enjoy, as well as being the full Alpina package. It goes on with a matching set of Michelin Pilot sport tyres, and it has five Alpina alloys as well. It also carries its Alpina plaque detailing its build and confirming that it is car number 56, which is very important. We also suspect it was ordered as an Individual build from BMW before it went off to Alpina to be completed.
The vendor has been hard pushed to sell this Alpina and has made a few attempts but then changed his mind. We are so pleased that he has finally agreed to let us sell it for him. He has also provided the following information:
“It is actually a year 2000 Alpina B10 3.3 manual with now just over 92,000 miles, full main dealer BMW service history with 10 stamps in the book and invoices for work done up to about 83,000 miles. I bought it in 2011 and have done a whopping 6,000 miles in 15 years. It has always been garaged in my ownership, and it shows in the condition. It’s really hard to fault and I am very picky.
There were a total of 112 (this one is build no 56) B10 3.3s allocated to the UK during the E39 model run and this one is one of only 22 saloons for the UK market for model year 2000. Probably unique in this colour combination.
My car is known to the Alpina Register, with a wealth of info at www.thealpinaregister.com”.
You can be assured that this is a difficult sell for our vendor, he has stressed that it goes to a good home and is cherished and preserved for all to enjoy. These are a great alternative to the legendary BMW M5, and a lot rarer. You really don’t see many like this; a true classic find that will provide much pride of ownership and enjoyment, over to you.
