Estimated Price: £2,000 - £4,000
- Produced between 1978 and 1983, the CX range of models - including the CX650 which was introduced in 1983, near the end of the original CX series - were part of Honda's effort to combine an unusual V-twin engine layout with advanced chassis technology for the early 1980s
- The CX650 Custom was built in low numbers with something like 7,600 bikes made, primarily for the US market, as there was strong demand for custom styled cruisers and were highly-regarded at their time of launch, boasting numerous high-tech features for the era including a water-cooled engine, electronic ignition/push-button start, dual CV-type carburettors, shaft drive, and other innovative features designed to make them enjoyable to ride and easy to live with
- This very smart example was imported to the UK and registered here in 1998
- It was kept in good condition by the previous keeper, but the importer, Elliott Motorcycles of Cricklade near Swindon, conscientiously improved the bike’s overall condition where necessary, before offering it for sale. This included new exhaust downpipes and re-painting the fuel tank. In addition, our vendor then sourced all the applicable Honda OEM accessories made for the bike and fitted them, including engine bars, a discreet rear luggage rack, and a passenger backrest and used the bike until 2005, when it was taken off of the road
- Only limited use since and may require some level of recommissioning prior to returning to the road
- UK-registered on a V5C and is supplied with a workshop manual and two sets of keys
- A good opportunity to purchase one of Honda's lesser known machines, and is being offered without reserve
