Introduced in 1929, the Model X was in production until 1940, with the biggest revision in 1937. The introduction of a shorter frame/wheelbase improved the roadholding and steering, and it was rebranded the ‘Sports Tourist’.
The CS1 (Camshaft Senior 1) was Norton’s very first 500cc overhead cam engine that was introduced in 1927 for the TT, it later went on sale to the general public along with the 350cc version the CJ1 ( Camshaft Junior ).
Founded in 1898, the first Norton motorcycles were not built until 1902 and used proprietary engines until 1907, when, designed by company founder James Lansdowne Norton, the long-stroke side valve single cylinder 633cc motor was introduced.
The Honda Z-series prototype was introduced in 1961. Originally built for children, it became something of a cult bike for adults. Officially called the Honda ‘Mini Trail’, they became known later as Monkey Bikes.
