1968 Dodge A100

The A100 was a series of compact vans and trucks produced under the Dodge marque from 1964 to 1970.  The Volkswagen Type 2 was the craze in the 60's so American manufacturers responded with their own lines to compete.  These had a "forward control" design which placed the driver on top of the front axle and put the engine between the front seats.  That made these unibody vehicles the name cab overs.  They had a relatively short wheel base and famously a hemi-powered custom version, known as "Little Red Wagon", was a wheelstanding popular drag strip attraction from the 60s all the way to the 2000s.  This '68 A100 is in great condition and has been totally gone through.  The body is straight and it was fully repainted in White.  All of the glass is in good condition and it has the two piece front windshield.  The chrome is all good with nice headlight trim, side trim and front/rear bumpers.  In back the bed has been rhino lined and a custom mount installed towards the cab as the previous owner would regularly carry around a vintage motorcycle.  The truck sits on nice matching White steel wheels with hubcaps and new tires.

There is no typical "hood" but under the engine cover inside the cab is a smooth running 318V8.  It starts up smoothly and has a new carburetor in place.  One unique feature on the truck is the modern AC that has been added.  If you think about your typical AC and how that works it took quite a bit of designing to adapt it to this cab over system.  It works great and blows cold.  Paired with the motor is a 3 speed manual transmission and it has a new clutch.  It shifts smoothly and it is a blast to drive. 

The interior has been replaced and is like new.  It has dual bucket seats to each side of the motor which feature Gray upholstery.  The dash is all nicely painted gloss Black and the passenger side has a Black dash pad.  It has its original factory gauges which all work properly.  Under the dash is the AC unit with 4 adjustable chrome vents.  The shifter is on the steering column which also has an aftermarket tachometer. 

This is one cool truck and you don't see a ton of them out there in this solid of condition.  It has a lot going for it including AC which is a nice plus!
