1954 Chevrolet Bel Air

The first generation of the Bel Air name was introduced in 1950.  Originally it was applied specifically to the 2 door hardtop and was named after the famous neighborhood in LA.  In 1953 things changed and now the Bel Air was applied to the premium trim level.  This year was also advertised as "Entirely new through and through" as they had all restyled body panels and a lot of the pre-war technology was being phased out.  This clean 1954 is the last year for the 1st gen Bel Airs and is in great shape.

It is being sold out of a private collection of 2 door hardtop Bel Airs specifically.  Based on the trim tag style number of 1037D it came from the factory with the Bel Air trim.  The car came with the Ivory roof and rear fender accent but has been repainted with the body color now being a metallic Root Beer.  All of the chrome and stainless is in excellent condition and the front grill has been customized with additional teeth.  The windows are all tinted and all the glass has been replaced.  The car has a great stance and it sits on a set of wire wheels with knock off style Cragar center caps with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.

Under the hood is a 350ci V8 that has been fitted with finned valve covers, billet wire looms, finned valve covers, an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake and Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor.  It has been nicely set up to be a good solid driver.  The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and sends power back to the 10 bolt rear end.  It sounds good too through the dual exhaust that is all new.  The power brake booster with proportional valve is painted to match and it has front discs.

The interior has all been redone in a two tone White with Brown inserts.  It is in very nice condition throughout and the bench seats look great.  The headliner has been redone as well and the chrome top bows have a nice shine.  The dash is all nicely painted and topped with its stock style trim and gauges.  In front of the driver sits a very nice Impala style steering wheel that is painted in two tone as well.  The trunk has plenty of storage space and houses a spare with cover.

This clean classic has a great look and is ready for a new home!
